Cosmonaut - By Mike Kelly and Mike Kearns

A tired, thirst-driven Cosmonaut and his mischievous, chimpanzee co-pilot are stranded in the desert, having been days since the initial landing. After their only hope of rescue is destroyed, a chase into the desert reveals what seems to be relief in the badlands, only leading to mind alteration and disaster.

This is our senior grade animation for 2013, made at the Kansas City Art Institute. We made this in about 4 1/2 months with TVPaint, Photoshop and After Effects.

Just a promotion of a joint-senior-animated-project-collaboration. It’s Cosmonaut.

An exhausted cosmonaut and a curious test monkey must survive the desert, only to have their only hope of rescue destroyed.

Coming with a link in May, principle animation and clean-up/color are almost done. Backgrounds are being pound out.

American jingoism and eye gouging seem to be missing an audience member. Art was cool for a while, now this video game thing seems more tempting.

INDIEGOGO INDIEGOGO INDIEGOGO

BIRD AND FISH INDIEGOGO CAMPAIGN IS LIVE!

Hey all! Thanks so much for taking the time to check us out. We’ve had lots of amazing support on this project so far, and now we need just one more little push to make it to the finish line.

The purpose of the campaign is to raise money so we can pay some assistant colorists. We’re asking for a relatively low amount, and we have some nifty prizes for you guys, so if you can spare a buck or two, please consider contributing!

I’m hoping that our goals for this film might resonate with Tumblr, in particular: if you’re like me, the constant influx of strictly heterosexual romances in animation gets really, really old; Bird and Fish is an effort to offset that status quo (if only by one little short). If you’ve been waiting for gay characters who can be more than stereotypes and political mouthpieces, then please help Bird and Fish to succeed!

If you can’t donate, then please reblog and spread the word. Additionally, if you’re interested in becoming a colorist for the film, shoot us an email at amendenhall@kcai.edu and/or sson@kcai.edu.

THANKS GUYS! YOU’RE THE BEST!!

PLEASE REBLOG! thank youuuuu! <3

Donate, believe and promote!
